Since 1927, FLYING Magazine has been the premier aviation magazine. This is the third issue of the fully reimagined FLYING Magazine.

In this third edition of the new FLYING, editor-in-chief Julie Boatman puts a twist on the classic “We Fly” with a three-part feature on the Daher TBM 960. She not only does a deep dive into the airplane’s capabilities, specifications, and cost, she also compares and contrasts it with the TBM 940 and takes readers on the flight of a lifetime: crossing the Atlantic last fall in a TBM 940 with veteran ferry pilot Margrit Waltz.

Also in this edition, FLYING announces its 2022 aviation awards and interviews actor and pilot Michael Dorn, who is best known for portraying Klingon Lt. Cmdr. Worf in popular TV shows Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

The issue offers an inside look at aerobatic aircraft, including the Gamebird GB1, American Champion Decathlon, Aviat Aircraft Pitts S-2C, and the Extra Aircraft NG; FLYING contributor Jason McDowell introduces readers to the straightforward and iconic Piper J-3 Cub; and senior editor Thom Patterson shows us the world’s largest airplane: Roc.

Have you ever dreamed of island hopping in Hawaii? We offer an aerial view of this destination and address the particulars of making this dream-come-true flight a reality, including the best GA airports for your adventure, and must-see sites.
